Editorial Policies
At the Engineering Convergence and Innovation (ECI) An International Journal we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and professionalism in academic publishing. Our editorial policies are designed to ensure a fair, ethical, and rigorous publication process that upholds the credibility of the research and the journal.
1. Peer Review Policy
Double-Blind Review: All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process. Both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other to eliminate bias.
Reviewer Selection: Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, research background, and academic credentials in the relevant field.
Review Timeline: Typically, the review process is completed within 2 to 4 weeks. However, it may vary depending on reviewer availability and complexity of the manuscript.
Review Criteria: Manuscripts are evaluated based on originality, technical soundness, clarity, relevance, methodology, and contribution to the field.
2. Publication Ethics
ECI strictly adheres to the guidelines of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).
Authors must ensure that their work is:
Original and has not been published elsewhere.
Free from plagiarism or duplication.
Ethically conducted, especially if it involves human or animal subjects.
Any attempt to manipulate or fabricate data will result in immediate rejection and blacklisting of the authors.
3. Authorship Criteria
All listed authors should have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution or interpretation of the research.
Ghost authorship (uncredited contributors) and guest authorship (credit without contribution) are strictly prohibited.
Changes in authorship (addition, removal or order) post-submission must be justified and approved by all authors and the editorial board.
4. Plagiarism Policy
All manuscripts are screened using advanced plagiarism detection tools.
A manuscript will be rejected if it contains more than 15% similarity with existing published works.
Authors found violating the plagiarism policy may face a ban on future submissions.
5. Conflict of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the manuscript’s review or publication.
Conflicts of interest will be managed transparently and documented in the article if necessary.
6. Correction, Retraction, and Withdrawal Policy
Corrections: Minor corrections (typos, author affiliations, etc.) can be made post-publication with editor approval.
Retractions: Articles with serious ethical breaches, such as plagiarism or falsified data, will be retracted and labeled accordingly.
Withdrawals: Manuscripts can be withdrawn by the authors before peer review or with justification during the review process.
7. Data Availability and Reproducibility
Authors are encouraged to share raw data, code, or supporting materials to enable reproducibility.
ECI may request the dataset during the review process for verification.
8. Open Access and Copyright
ECI is an open-access journal. All published articles are freely accessible under the appropriate Creative Commons License.
Authors retain copyright of their work but grant ECI the right to publish and distribute the article.
9. Appeals and Complaints
Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a written explanation.
Complaints related to the review process, editorial handling, or ethical concerns will be investigated by the Editorial Ethics Committee.
10. Editorial Independence
The editorial board operates independently, free from commercial or institutional influence.
Editors and reviewers are expected to act with impartiality, confidentiality, and academic integrity.
